Arjun (Jayam Ravi), an unemployed youngster and Deva (Rahul Dev) a powerful don both fall in love with Sailaja (Shriya), a middle-class beauty, at the same time on a rainy day at a railway station. Arjun keeps bumping into Sailaja coincidentally every time it rains. This makes them both feel that it is perhaps the rain that keeps bringing them together, and they start to fall in love. Deva, on the other hand, takes the back-door route to get the girl, with the help of her good-for-nothing father (Kalabhavan Mani). After learning of the Arjun and Sailaja's love, Deva and Sailaja's father work up devious plans to break them up. And finally they succeed in creating a rift between the two lovers. Though Arjun realizes what is really happening, Sailaja falls prey to the foils of the Deva and her father. The young lovers part ways; Sailaja becomes a leading lady in the movies and Arjun works with his uncle in a quarry as a demolition expert. Deva is cheated out of some money by Sailaja's father, and as revenge, he finds out where Sailaja now lives and kidnaps her from right under her parents' noses. Sailaja's father realizes that the only person who is daring enough and cares enough to get his daughter back is Arjun and goes to him with his pleas. It takes much convincing, but Arjun finally decides to rescue Sailaja but for reasons other than love

சந்திரமுகி 2005 ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்த தமிழ்மொழித் திரைப்படமாகும். பி. வாசு இதன் இயக்குனர் ஆவார். இப்படத்தில் ரஜினிகாந்த்,நயன்தாரா,பிரபு, ஜோதிகா,நாசர்,வடிவேல் மற்றும் பலரும் நடித்துள்ளனர். வித்யாசாகர் இப்படத்தின் இசையமைப்பாளர் ஆவார். அமெரிக்காவில் மனோதத்துவ நிபுணராகப் படிப்பை முடித்து விட்டு இந்தியாவிற்கு வருகின்றார் சரவணன் (ரஜினிகாந்த்) அங்கு தன் நண்பரான செந்தில் நாதனையும் (பிரபு) அவரின் மனைவி கங்காவைவும் (ஜோதிகா) சந்திக்கின்றார்.செந்தில் நாதனுடைய சொந்த ஊருக்குச் செல்கின்றனர் அனைவரும்.அங்கு செல்லும் செந்தில் நாதன் பல முறை உறவினர்கள் வேண்டாம் என்று எடுத்துக் கூறியிருந்தும் வேட்டையபுரம் அரண்மனையினை விலைக்கு வாங்கி பின்னர் அங்கு குடியிருக்க ஏற்பாடுகளையும் செய்கின்றார்.பின்னர் அங்கு அனைவரும் சென்று தங்குகின்றனர்.ஆரம்பத்தில் அமைதியாக இருந்த அவ்வீட்டினுள் அமைந்திருக்கும் ஒரு அறையினுள் செல்ல யாரும் அனுமதிக்கப் படவில்லை இதனையும் பொருட்படுத்தாது அங்கு செல்லும் கங்கா தன்னை அறியாது பலமுறைகளில் கோபம் கொள்கின்றார் மேலும் அங்கிருக்கும் பலரின் மீதும் வீண் பழிகளைச் சுமத்துகின்றார்.இவரின் நடைமுறைகளில் பல மாற்றங்கள் தோன்றுவதைக் கண்ட சரவணனும் இவரின் நடவடிக்கை பலவனவற்றை நோட்டம் விடுகின்றார். பின்னர் அனைவருக்கும் கங்காவிடம் ஆவி புகுந்திருப்பதனையும் விளக்குகின்றார்.அதாவது சுமார் பல நூற்றாண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் இங்கு சந்திரமுகி என்னும் பெண் வேட்டையபுரம் அரண்மனையில் ராஜாக்கள் முன்னிலையில் நடனமாட வேட்டையன் எனும் ராஜாவால் அழைக்கப்பட்டு வந்தான் என்றும் அவளை அடைவதற்காக அவ்வரண்மனையின் அருகாமையில் இருக்கும் அவளின் காதலனின் தலையை அவள் முன்னேயே துண்டித்தான் அம்மன்னன் எனவும் பின்னர் சந்திரமுகி உயிரோடு எரித்துக் கொல்லப் பட்டதாகவும் எனவே அவளின் ஆவி இன்றுவரை அவ்வரண்மனையில் உலவுவதாகவும் சரவணன் அனைவருக்கும் விளக்கினார். மேலும் சந்திரமுகியின் ஆவி கங்காவின் உடம்பினுள் புகுந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றது அதே வேளை அவளின் ஆவியை ஓட்டுவதற்கு சந்திரமுகி கொல்லப்பட்ட நாளான துர்காஸ்தமியில் அவள் ஆவி மந்திரவாதியின் உதவியுடன் ஓட்டப்பட வேண்டும் எனவும் விளக்கினார்.இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் செய்தனர்.இறுதியில் சந்திரமுகியின் ஆவியும் கங்காவின் உடலை விட்டு நீங்கிச் செல்கின்றது.
